Promulgation of Law 30-26
President Luis Abinader enacted Law 30-26 on Thursday, June 18, following its approval by the National Congress. The law establishes measures aimed at promoting economic growth and mitigating the effects of the international crisis.
The legislation seeks to foster sustainable development, enhance general well-being, and create conditions conducive to the country's economic and social progress.
It also aims to reinforce the responsible management of public resources and strengthen tax compliance in accordance with the principles of equity, progressivity, and taxpayers' ability to pay.
In addition, the law underscores the importance of preserving fiscal and economic stability as a means of maintaining confidence in public institutions and supporting job creation.
The measure was adopted against a backdrop of global economic and financial uncertainty, which, according to the law, makes it “necessary to adopt measures aimed at strengthening fiscal discipline, ensuring the sustainability of public finances, and enhancing predictability in economic management, thereby reinforcing the State’s capacity to respond efficiently and promptly to the changes and challenges of both the national and international economic environment.”
